Notable Utah National Banks

  • First National Bank of Beaver City, Utah

    Chartered in 1908 and operating until 1922 this bank only issued 1902 series blue seals.
    A nice title on this bank, it's too bad there are no notes known.

  • First National Bank of Coalville, Utah

    This bank was chartered in 1905 and lasted the duration of the note issued period until 1935.
    The bank issued red seals, blue seals and small sized notes.
    Small notes are common but large notes are very tough with only three known.
    There are no red seals known on the bank

  • First National Bank of Delta, Utah

    This tiny bank opened in late 1919 and struggled on for a little over two years before closing.
    The bank issued only large blue seals and not many at that.
    There are no notes known on the bank.

  • First National Bank of Layton, Utah

    Serving the community between 1904 and 1935 this bank issued red seals, blue seals and small notes.
    There are 4 large notes known on the bank, none of them are red seals.

    This long lived bank started in 1886 and lasted to the end in 1935.
    One of the great Mormon titled banks this note is highly desirable as a brownback or red seal.
    It's not too hard to find as a blue seal.

  • Nephi National Bank of Nephi, Utah

    From 1906 to 1932 this bank cranked out red and blue seals and then small notes.
    A common note in a blue seal but red seals are very tough with only one known.

  • First National Bank of Ogden, Utah

    This bank operated from 1881 to 1935 under 5 differrent titles.
    They issued territorial series 1875, 1882 brownbacks, 1902 blue seals and small notes.
    This charter is one of the most common in the state of Utah

  • Utah National Bank of Ogden, Utah

    This bank worked from 1883 to 1922 when it was folded into the First Nation Bank of Ogden.
    It issued territorial and state brownbacks and blue seals.

  • Commercial National Bank of Ogden, Utah

    Chartered in 1884 and lasting until 1925.
    This bank issued territorial and state brownbacks and blue seals.
    Territorial notes are known to exist.

    Notes are available in territorial and state form.
    They issued brown seals and blue seals
    Notes from this town are highly sought due to the name and the money associated with the town.

  • First National Bank of Price, Utah

    Chugging along from 1901 to 1935 this bank went the distance.
    They issued brown backs, 1882 date backs and blue seals.
    Small notes are common but brown backs are always desirable.

  • First National Bank of Provo City, Utah

    Lasting 12 years between 1882 and 1900.
    This bank issued the highly desirable 1875 series notes in territorial and state form.
    Sadly, none are known. If one were to be found it would command a price that might actually buy
    you a house in Provo today

  • National Bank of Commerce Provo City, Utah

    Chartered in 1890 and lasting only four years to 1894.
    This bank only issued territorial brown back notes and none are known today.

  • Miners National Bank of Salt Lake City, Utah

    The first bank in Utah to be issued a national charter in 1866.
    This bank lasted for only three years until 1869.
    It was one of the four banks in Utah to issue $1.00 and $2.00 nationals.
    All $1.00 and $2.00 nationals from Utah are from Salt Lake City

  • First National Bank of Salt Lake City, Utah

    Operated for only five years between 1869 and 1874.
    This bank issued only 1863 original series notes in all denominations except $500 and $100.
    This bank is tough to own since there is exactly one known.

  • Salt Lake City National Bank of Salt Lake City, Utah

    This bank only lasted for four years between 1872 and 1876.
    The charter issued original series notes and series of 1875.

  • Deseret National Bank of Salt Lake City, Utah

    Salt Lakes longest running national bank lasting from 1872 through 1932.

    They issued territorial and state brown backs. There are no territorial notes known.

  • American National Bank of Salt Lake City, Utah

    In business for only 4 years from 1890 to 1894.
    This bank only issued territorial notes in $5, $50 and $100 denominations.
    There are no notes known on this bank but if a $50 or $100 were to surface it would be
    a huge note since there are no $50 brown backs and only one $100 brown back known on Utah.
